About the Network
A quick look at the NH Mesonet
This is a temporary About page while the full story is being written. For now, here is the simple version: the NH Mesonet is a growing weather station network operated by Mount Washington Observatory to help people see what is happening across New Hampshire in near real time.
What this page is
This page is a temporary overview while the final About copy is being prepared. The full version will tell more of the story behind the network, the stations, the partners, and the data. For now, this keeps things light and gives visitors the basics.
What the Mesonet does
The NH Mesonet brings together weather observations from stations across New Hampshire. These stations help show local conditions like temperature, humidity, wind, pressure, and other useful measurements.
Why we are building it
New Hampshire weather can change quickly, and conditions can look very different from one valley, ridge, or summit to the next. More observation points help create a clearer picture of what is happening across the state.
Operated by Mount Washington Observatory
The network is operated by Mount Washington Observatory. It builds on the Observatory’s long history of weather observation while expanding access to useful, local weather data across New Hampshire.
What is coming next
More detail is coming soon, including the story of the network, station information, partner notes, data access details, and ways to get involved. In the meantime, visitors can use the live map, station pages, and documentation to explore the network.
